As a Senior Software Engineer at Tanium, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining best-of-breed products as part of a nimble development team. Our customer engagement model and feedback process ensure that our products are designed with the right approach from the beginning. When new product ideas are identified, our software engineers work with product management and customers to gather feedback and input, iterating on the design, development, and deployment of the products.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Tanium's products alongside an agile development team.
- Design, develop, and test new product ideas from the ground up, working with product management for feedback and input.
- Work on small teams that tackle big challenges in common components like a common data service, handling time series data, and exposing data externally through GraphQL.
- Deliver higher-level services enabled by our core services, focusing on security, operations, and auditing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- CS degree preferred.
- Must be eligible to obtain the FedRAMP security clearance at a minimum.
- 5+ years industry experience.
- Experience designing and building high-impact, high-performance, scalable, observable, and maintainable backend services and APIs.
- Knowledge of at least one of Golang, Python, Ruby, Rust, or Java.
- Experience with React, Javascript, or typescript.
- Experience with API design and development.
- Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like git and Jenkins.

What You'll Get
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 to $355,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience. In addition to an annual base salary, team members will receive equity awards and a generous benefits package consisting of medical, dental, and vision plan, family planning benefits, health savings account, flexible spending account, transportation savings account, 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, life, accident, and disability coverage, business travel accident insurance, employee assistance programs, disability insurance, and other well-being benefits.
