Job Title: Fire Alarm Service Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Service Technician to join our team at Koorsen Fire & Security Inc. in Indianapolis, IN. As a Fire Alarm Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems and their components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service and maintain fire alarm systems to ensure proper functionality.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system problems to identify solutions.
  • Interact with customers to understand their system needs and provide education on system functionality.
  • Work with vendors and co-workers to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Follow all safety regulations and practices to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical skills and ability to read diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Experience with fire alarm system installation, servicing, or repair.
  • Experience with electronic testing devices and ability to pass drug and background screenings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to meet state licensing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fire Life Safety, Low Voltage, or Security experience.
  • Fire alarm manufacturer certifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Physical Demands:

  • Able to safely use general hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to use a cell phone and phone apps effectively.
  • Lift and carry at least 50 lbs. and push and pull more significant than 75 lbs.
  • Climb a ladder reaching at least 12 feet and use a man lift to perform services.

Hiring Process:

  1. New hires must complete the I-9 Verification form within three days of hire.
  2. All Positions require background checks with criminal courts, state and county repositories of criminal records, and the Department of Motor Vehicles.
  3. A test for Evidence of Substance Abuse by urinalysis test is required if this application results in an offer of employment.
