Position Overview:
The Head Artisan Baker plays a crucial role in upholding the quality standards set forth by the Pastry Chef and Executive Chef. This position focuses on the meticulous preparation and artistic presentation of a variety of baked goods, ensuring adherence to product specifications and maintaining a clean work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Core duties include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with the Sous Chef to ensure quality control and appropriate portioning of baked products.
- Crafting fresh artisan breads, rolls, and other premium menu selections for diverse dining venues.
- Preparing items for display, which includes slicing, packaging, and labeling bakery products.
- Maintaining attractive displays by ensuring product availability for guests throughout operational hours.
- Implementing a rotation system for products to guarantee freshness, while diligently tracking and recording waste daily.
- Adhering to production schedules and prioritizing tasks effectively to maintain optimal product levels in the bakery department.
- Monitoring the baking process and making necessary adjustments to meet production goals.
- Handling ingredients, equipment, tools, and baking pans efficiently.
- Overseeing mixing and baking procedures to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
- A High School diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
- Culinary education is considered an asset.
- A minimum of three (3) to four (4) years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience is preferred.
