Electromechanical Systems Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Electromechanical PLC Technician to join our team at ESPO. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, and calibrating plant electrical and mechanical equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, service, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and calibrate plant electrical and mechanical equipment and systems.
- Regularly inspect and record the condition of electrical equipment, including motors, generators, control panels, systems, switches, lighting, circuits, and circuit breakers.
- Clean, maintain, adjust, and lubricate equipment, taking all necessary safety precautions.
- Use electrical test equipment, drawings, electrical blueprints, wiring, and PLC schematic diagrams to install new equipment and diagnose problems with inoperative equipment.
- Modify and improve existing equipment, determine whether temporary continuation of operation will have any harmful effect on equipment, and advise Crew Chief and Production Supervisor when immediate shut down of equipment is necessary to minimize damage.
- Perform temporary or permanent repairs, repair motors, cranes, generators, and other equipment, and perform mechanical repairs as required.
- Stop, start, and adjust industrial oven gas and air.
- Monitor, inspect, and calibrate computer relay systems, analyze, and make repairs on same.
- Train and assist in the development of Electricians in PLC and Electromechanical Systems.
- Erect scaffolds and perform simple rigging as required.
- Responsible for housekeeping in shop areas and work sites.
- Actively participate in quality improvement processes.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience working with PLCs and HMI programming.
- Knowledgeable of test equipment used for trouble-shooting systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, PLC programs, and act on them.
- Thorough knowledge of AC/DC equipment, motors, generators, control panels, switches, lighting circuit breakers, and relay systems, variable speed drives, and programmable controllers.
- Thorough knowledge of PLC networking with Automax (Reliance) system, Allen Bradley Processors using RSLogix 500 and 5000 software with linkages between systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot, modify, and/or re-write ladder logic programs within processors using RSLogix software.
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot, repair, or replace portions of, or entirety of, specialized electromechanical systems in hydro, hydraulic, or pneumatic equipment.
- Familiarity with all applicable codes and proper installation methods.
