Job SummaryWe are seeking a Marine/Waterfront Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team in Houston, TX, Southern California, and Oakland, CA offices. As a Senior Consulting Engineer, you will provide consulting services to inspect, evaluate, analyze, and design a variety of marine and waterfront structures, facilities, and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect, evaluate, analyze, and design marine, waterfront, port, and harbor structures, facilities, and infrastructure.
- Support waterfront stabilization and resiliency projects that involve wind, wave, current, tide, flood, sea level rise, mooring, berthing, and seismic loads.
- Prepare calculations for project components that may include concrete, steel, aluminum, composite, and timber elements.
- Prepare technical reports and develop construction drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
- Provide construction administration and field observation.
- Assist with training, mentoring, and managing junior staff and interns.
- Assist in proposal development and business development efforts.
- M.S. degree in Civil, Structural, Coastal, or Ocean Engineering required.
- 9+ years of experience in waterfront/marine/port/ocean engineering; Experience with ASCE MOP 130, ASCE 61, PIANC Guidelines is a plus.
- Registered professional engineer in the United States, or ability to obtain within 12 months of joining SGH.
- Excellent written, oral and verbal communication skills; Ability to convey information to internal and external clients clearly.
- Problem-solving ability: capability to solve minor or complex problems using data, logic, and judgment. Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to travel for client meetings and business development, including some overnight travel.

Anticipated annual base salary: $94,000 - $156,000. This range is a good-faith estimate provided pursuant to the California Pay Transparency Law.
The actual salary offered may vary from the range, as permitted by the California Equal Pay Transparency Law, and will be based on several factors including the candidate's experience and qualifications, education, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
