Catalyst Coating Operator

We are seeking a skilled Light Duty Coating Specialist to join our team at ECMS - BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions Division. As a key member of our production team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our coating processes.
Key Responsibilities- Assure coating slurry and raw substrates meet required specifications, start equipment to transfer slurry to the coater machine.
- Set scale limits and pump operation pressure to assure proper slurry supply to coating machine.
- Enter production information into computer for lot packages, downtime sheets and SAP.
- Follow work instructions, and specification sheets, set and control coating machines to regulate speed of coating, flow of chemical slurries, and temperature of drying ovens to maintain specified customer quality requirements.
- Utilize work instructions to guide and troubleshoot coater systems and make appropriate adjustments to assure proper coater operation.
- Clean and maintain coating machines and associated feed tanks, plumbing and pumps.
- Properly complete administrative entries associated with coater operations such as Process Lot Tickets, standard process control charts and other operations forms.
- Load substrates onto a line or packs substrates into boxes.
- Utilize a forklift to maneuver parts/materials in the area.
- Screen parts for quality issues.
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2 or more years of manufacturing production work-related experience
- 2 or more years operating machines
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; as well as talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to document test results via hand-written and keyboard entries. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Any part that weighs more than 25 pounds needs to be lifted by a manipulator or the buddy system.
