Job Summary

As a Senior Nurse Anesthetist at the University of California, you will play a critical role in providing safe anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This position requires a high level of expertise in anesthesia techniques, patient assessment, and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-operative assessments, including reviewing medical history, physical examination, and laboratory tests
  • Develop and implement anesthesia care plans, taking into account patient-specific factors and medical conditions
  • Administer various types of anesthesia, including general, regional, and local anesthesia
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthesia as needed to ensure patient safety
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care

Requirements:

  • Master's or DNP degree in Nurse Anesthesia
  • Current California RN and CRNA license
  • National Board of Certification & Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) certification
  • BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or ARC
  • 2 years of CRNA experience

Work Environment:

This position requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of patient acuity. You will be working in various operating rooms, including those with high-risk patients. You must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and patients.
