Position Overview:

The Occupational Therapist plays a crucial role in executing the physician's directives for occupational therapy services. This professional is tasked with delivering comprehensive occupational therapy within a collaborative healthcare environment, aiming to assist patients in achieving the highest level of independence and safety in their daily lives. The Occupational Therapist is expected to apply a thorough understanding of growth and development principles when caring for pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.

Key Responsibilities:

The Occupational Therapist will:

  • Exhibit the capability to manage physically demanding tasks, including the safe movement of equipment and patients, adhering to specified safety protocols.
  • Ensure accurate and secure documentation within the Electronic Medical Record system.
  • Employ critical thinking skills during patient assessments and treatment planning.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various therapeutic modalities such as Ultrasound, Iontophoresis, Moist Heat, Paraffin, and Electrical Stimulation, tailored to the needs of different age groups.
  • Utilize knowledge of the musculoskeletal, nervous, and integumentary systems to inform patient care.
  • Identify and address the educational needs of patients and their families.
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations using appropriate functional tests and measures, integrating objective data with social factors and medical history to formulate effective therapy goals.
  • Collaborate with team members to support patients and families throughout their therapy journey, including evaluation, treatment, and scheduling.

Qualifications:

Education:
The candidate must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program.

Experience:
Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Licensure:
Must hold a valid Occupational Therapist license from the relevant state health department.

Certifications:
Basic Life Support certification is required within the first month of employment.

Mental Requirements:
The Occupational Therapist must be adept at interpreting and adhering to physician orders, collaborating effectively with colleagues, responding to patient needs, and demonstrating initiative in achieving treatment objectives.
