Position Overview:

The Occupational Therapist must possess a thorough understanding of growth and development principles applicable to pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients. This role requires the ability to assess and interpret data that reflects the patient's condition, ensuring that care is tailored to meet age-specific needs.

Key Responsibilities:

In this position, you will be expected to:

  • Exhibit the capability to manage physically demanding tasks, including the safe movement of equipment and patients.
  • Maintain accurate and secure documentation within the Electronic Medical Record system.
  • Employ critical thinking skills in patient assessment and treatment planning.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of therapeutic modalities such as Ultrasound, Iontophoresis, Moist Heat, Paraffin, and Electrical Stimulation, ensuring their appropriate application in patient care.
  • Understand the musculoskeletal, nervous, and integumentary systems, utilizing age-specific indicators.
  • Identify and address the learning needs of patients and their families.
  • Conduct patient evaluations using relevant functional tests and measures, integrating objective data with social factors and medical history to establish therapy goals.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to assist patients and families throughout the therapy process.

Qualifications:

Education and Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program. Continuous education in stroke management is required.

Experience:
Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Licensure:
Must hold a valid Occupational Therapist license from the appropriate state health department.

Additional Certifications:
Basic Life Support certification is required within the initial period of employment.

Mental Demands:
The role necessitates the ability to interpret and adhere to physician orders, collaborate with colleagues, respond to patient needs, and demonstrate initiative in achieving treatment objectives.
