Position Overview:

Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, the Compounding Technician I is responsible for working in a sterile environment, compounding medications at least 50% of the time to ensure safe, precise, and efficient compounding operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Prescription Compounding, Preparation, & Processing

  • Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications and supplies in compliance with company policies and state regulations.
  • Ensure medications are accurately compounded.
  • Perform essential pharmaceutical calculations to determine correct dosages.
  • Label and package medications accurately.
  • Participate in assessing, managing, and reporting medication-related incidents.

Site & Equipment Maintenance

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods.
  • Inspect equipment and document any failures or defects.
  • Assist in recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Basic Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician.
  • Must be licensed or registered as required by state regulations.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience in providing customer service to both internal and external clients, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Ability to perform basic and intermediate mathematical calculations.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.

Travel Requirements:

None.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of the designated training course within 6 months of hire, if required by state regulations.
  • Previous experience in healthcare or as a pharmacy technician is preferred.

Compensation:

Salary will be determined based on the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market alignment. The pay range is $23.48-$39.13.
