Position Overview:
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be accountable for the strategic planning, organization, and oversight of daily operations conducted by Maintenance Technicians, focusing on the upkeep, repair, and enhancement of plant machinery and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate the daily tasks of maintenance technicians utilizing SAP CMMS (ADDS - Autonomous Downtime Dispatch System) for effective planning and execution.
- Mentor technicians by employing problem-solving strategies, fostering teamwork, and implementing continuous improvement methodologies.- Cultivate a high-performance work environment by actively engaging with team members, providing coaching to enhance decision-making skills, and promoting self-sufficiency.
- Collaborate with various departments to investigate failures, devise, and execute permanent corrective and preventive action plans, ensuring compliance across all shifts.
- Coordinate with other departments to align scheduled resources with project objectives and timelines.- Manage SAP (ADDS) work orders for both breakdown and planned maintenance activities, ensuring timely resolution.
- Participate in establishing departmental goals and expectations while ensuring adherence to standards.
- Uphold compliance with procedures, 5S, and safety regulations as mandated by law and company policy.
- Maintain adequate inventories of tools, parts, and supplies necessary for effective equipment maintenance.
- Regularly reassess priorities to balance multiple tasks and production demands.
- Develop a succession plan for key roles within the team.
- Oversee merit increases and salary planning based on performance evaluations.
- Review and enhance existing preventive maintenance plans in collaboration with engineering and the Preventive Maintenance team.
- Create and implement procedures for effective preventive maintenance of equipment, including detailed work instructions.
- Assess the critical spare parts inventory for equipment and ensure availability in the Tool Crib for each asset.
- Collaborate closely with equipment suppliers to identify and schedule training opportunities for the maintenance team.
- Be prepared to work off-shift hours and adapt to the workflow as necessary.
- Develop and maintain documentation regarding equipment operation and troubleshooting for training purposes.
- Evaluate and track technician competencies, driving development to meet performance expectations.
- Lead technician recruitment and hiring processes, including resume screening, selection, and interviews, in conjunction with HR.
- Execute additional duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's technical degree or equivalent military certification with 7 years of experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams).- Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to make decisive, proactive, and strategic decisions.
- Demonstrated technical and mechanical expertise to coach others in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Capability to motivate and train effectively in high-pressure environments.
- Ability to work under pressure while coordinating with others, maintaining discipline, and a sense of urgency.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; sponsorship for employment visas is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing.
- Over 2 years in a leadership capacity.
- Project management experience is valued, as this role involves managing costs, schedules, and resources.
- Familiarity with interpreting mechanical drawings and pneumatic and electrical schematics.- Experience with mechanical and electrical power tools and measurement devices.
- Understanding of industrial machinery and electromechanical systems, including machine elements, electro-pneumatics, sensors, PLCs, low voltage controls, three-phase power distribution, vision systems, hydraulics, and robotics.
- Experience in operating and maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment.- Strong knowledge of any of the following is highly preferred:
- Six-axis robotics (FANUC, Staubli, Motoman, UR).
- PLC and HMI Programming (Allen Bradley).
- Vision systems equipment and processes (COGNEX, Keyence 2D Camera and 3D profilometer).
- Point-to-point soldering processes and equipment.
- Conformal coating processes and equipment.
- Laser welding processes and equipment.
- Chemical dispensing processes and equipment.
