Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Genie Healthcare is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Peoria, Illinois.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Ultrasound Technologist to perform routine and specialized examinations in Ultrasound. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong understanding of ultrasound procedures and equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform ultrasound procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards of Medical Imaging.
  • Exhibit competency in performing ultrasound procedures and image quality through the use of appropriate transducers and machine settings.
  • Evaluate the finished images to ensure diagnostic exams are being submitted to the radiologists.
  • Maintain quality care throughout the procedure and assess the abdominal arterial & venous system using color imaging.
  • Report equipment problems through appropriate channels and document on board for all staff.
  • Set up trays with sterile field for radiologist and assist radiologist with biopsy.
  • Order labs and pathology tests under the direction of a radiologist.
  • Perform support functions of the Medical Imaging department to ensure patient expectations and needs are met.
  • Promptly process images and paperwork to ensure timely turn around in providing a report to the physician's office.
Requirements:
  • 1+ years of experience in ultrasound/sonography.
  • Basic reading, writing, oral English skills.
  • Accountability.
  • Multicultural sensitivity.
  • Customer/patient focused.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to customer/co-worker.
  • Interaction with a wide variety of people.
  • Maintain confidentiality.

Education:
  • Associate's Degree in Ultrasound/Sonography.
Certifications & Licensure:
  • BLS (American Heart Assoc.)
  • ARDMS
