Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Carle Health. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized examinations in Ultrasound, adapting procedures to obtain specific diagnostic and/or therapeutic results, and preparing patients for examinations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform ultrasound procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards of Medical Imaging to assigned patients of all ages.
  • Exhibit competency in performing ultrasound procedures, including imaging required views demonstrating appropriate anatomy and pathology.
  • Maintain working knowledge of equipment in order to function in all areas of ultrasound, including all ultrasound equipment within the Medical Imaging Ultrasound department.
  • Assist radiologists with biopsy procedures and order labs and pathology tests under their direction.
  • Perform support functions of the Medical Imaging department to ensure patient expectations and needs are met and assume personal responsibility for training fellow technologists/students.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Ultrasound or Certificate in Radiologic Technology.
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) AB, OB, BR, or S certification within 1 year.
  • Basic reading, writing, oral English skills, accountability, multicultural sensitivity, customer/patient-focused, basic computer knowledge, critical thinking skills, and ability to respond appropriately to customer/co-worker interaction.
