Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to become an integral part of our healthcare team. The LPN will collaborate with other healthcare professionals within a specialized department, assisting in various procedures and contributing to the planning and execution of care strategies that prioritize high-quality patient outcomes. The role requires effective time management to ensure smooth patient flow and delivery of care.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Interactions:
  • Greet patients warmly and escort them to examination rooms.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and medical procedures.
  • Clearly communicate treatment plans, medication instructions, and dietary guidelines to patients.
  • Administer medications, including injections and IV therapy, in accordance with licensure regulations.
  • Provide essential patient care, including wound dressing, catheterization, and application of compresses.
  • Accurately collect, label, and process medical specimens.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of medical treatment areas.
  • Utilize appropriate medical equipment effectively.
  • Coordinate follow-up appointments for patients as necessary.
  • Communicate any delays to patients promptly.
Documentation:
  • Accurately input patient information into electronic health records in a timely manner.
  • Assist in managing the physician's desktop efficiently.
Administrative Support:
  • Provide clerical assistance, including appointment scheduling and obtaining pre-authorizations.
  • Oversee medical inventory and supply ordering based on established levels.
  • Work under the supervision of a physician or Registered Nurse.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited LPN program.
  • Current LPN licensure in the state of Connecticut.
  • Preferred skills in IV therapy and/or phlebotomy.
  • Ability to complete competency assessments within the first three months of employment.
