Position Overview:
New Britain General is in search of an Advanced Practice Provider to become a vital member of their Palliative Care team. The Advanced Practitioner will collaborate closely with the attending physician and interdisciplinary care team members to provide exceptional palliative care services to patients and their families facing chronic, serious, or life-threatening illnesses, as well as those approaching end-of-life care.
The Advanced Practitioner will excel in pain and symptom management, aiming to enhance patient functionality and quality of life within the constraints of their medical conditions, while addressing factors such as anxiety, communication barriers, financial concerns, and cultural considerations.

Scope of Practice:
Under established protocols and in collaboration with supervising physicians, Advanced Practice Providers conduct routine physical assessments and develop comprehensive medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans for patients.
In partnership with physicians and care team members, Advanced Practice Providers create strategies for further evaluation of health needs, including referrals to specialists or other healthcare professionals.
Advanced Practice Providers deliver appropriate treatments for conditions within their scope of practice, as defined by established protocols, and identify issues that require referral to a physician.

Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligibility)
Training:
Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
Preferred Experience:
1+ years in palliative care
National Board Certification in Palliative Care
