Role Overview:
The BC/DR Specialist plays a pivotal role in formulating, updating, and validating the business continuity and disaster recovery strategies for Trulieve. This position is crucial in ensuring that the organization can swiftly restore its essential operations following any disruption or emergency. The BC/DR Specialist also provides essential training and support to personnel and stakeholders regarding effective practices and protocols for business continuity and disaster recovery.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine the business continuity and disaster recovery strategies to align with organizational goals and standards.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and business impact analyses to pinpoint potential threats and vulnerabilities affecting critical operations.
- Formulate and implement strategies to mitigate risks and establish contingency plans to minimize the impact of disruptions.
- Organize and execute regular drills and evaluations to ensure the effectiveness and preparedness of the business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
- Monitor and report on the performance and adherence to the business continuity and disaster recovery processes.
- Facilitate training and awareness initiatives for staff and stakeholders on their roles, best practices, and procedures related to business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Support incident management and crisis response teams during disruptions, aiding in the recovery and restoration of critical operations.
- Analyze feedback and lessons learned from drills and incidents to recommend enhancements to the business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
Key Duties:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for business continuity and disaster recovery, including policies, standards, and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses for critical operations, documenting findings and recommendations.
- Prioritize recovery objectives and strategies for essential functions and resources.
- Implement the business continuity and disaster recovery strategies, detailing recovery procedures, roles, communication plans, and escalation protocols.
- Plan and execute business continuity and disaster recovery drills, overseeing all phases from planning to reporting.
- Continuously assess the internal and external environment for emerging risks that may impact business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
- Deliver training and awareness programs to ensure staff and stakeholders are well-versed in their responsibilities regarding business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Assist incident management and crisis response teams during disruptions, providing guidance on recovery activities.
- Evaluate outcomes from drills and incidents to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
- Enhance business continuity and disaster recovery strategies based on insights gained from experiences and established best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, risk management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience in business continuity and disaster recovery planning and management.
- Familiarity with business continuity and disaster recovery standards and frameworks, such as ISO 22301 and NIST SP 800-34.
- Understanding of risk management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of incident management and crisis response principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in project management and organizational skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Capable of adapting to high-pressure and evolving situations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Certification:
Certification in business continuity and disaster recovery, such as CBCP, CBRM, CRISC, or ISO 22301, is advantageous.
Work Schedule:
40+ hours weekly with flexible hours based on departmental needs.
