Skilled Behavior Intervention Coach

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Support Specialist to join our team at Millard Public Schools. As a key member of our student services department, you will play a critical role in supporting students with behavior needs and helping them achieve their academic goals.
In this position, you will work closely with teachers, counselors, and other educational professionals to develop and implement individualized behavior plans that promote student success. Your expertise will help students overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Implement Tier 2.2 and Tier 3 behavior strategies and supports under the direction of the MTS-Behavior Facilitator and in conjunction with the school team.
- Assist instructional personnel by participating as a team member in the development and monitoring of comprehensive behavioral objectives, goals, and plans.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify student needs, coordinate intervention efforts, and provide academic assistance.
- Work one-on-one with students to affect behavior changes; evaluate student's needs and provide interventions to redirect behavior.
- Maintain accurate records of student behavior progress and programs implemented to achieve desired behaviors.
Requirements:
- Education Level: Minimum: High School Diploma; Preferred: Some College
- Certification or Licensure: Minimum: None
- Experience/Knowledge desired:
Able to assist with instruction; background or experience in working with children who demonstrate behavior challenges; displays a significant degree of professionalism and confidentiality; willingness to learn alternative methods to deal with inappropriate school behaviors; must be able to respond rapidly in emergency situations; ability to work with and meet individual needs of students.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
- Background or experience working with children who have Autism
Estimated Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
