Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Pharmacy Manager or their designated representative, the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist is responsible for evaluating medication therapies, providing recommendations based on contemporary research and established clinical guidelines. This role includes overseeing support staff, acting as a key resource for pharmaceutical information, and participating in the preparation and distribution of medications.

  • Review and assess drug therapies to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy support personnel.
  • Provide drug information and education to healthcare team members.
  • Engage in the preparation and safe distribution of medications.
Required Qualifications

Education: Must be a graduate of an ACCP accredited pharmacy school or college.

Licensure: Must be eligible or currently licensed to practice in the State of Maine.

Experience: Preferred experience includes working as a patient care pharmacist with a focus on medication monitoring and therapy evaluation in a structured healthcare environment. Experience in managing drug therapy across diverse patient demographics is advantageous.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with strong analytical abilities to identify and address medication-related issues.
