Key Responsibilities:
  • Fills prescription items, packaging medications for dispensing and delivery, meeting accuracy and productivity standards.
  • Participates in periodic inventory of the pharmacy, checking in drugs and supplies, stocking shelves, and removing out-of-date items.
  • Processes returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
  • Assists in the training of new employees and manages inventory functions, monitoring pharmaceutical levels and identifying expired medications.
  • Inputs patient data and medication orders into a computer system to produce labels.
  • Mixes and packages IV medications, sanitizes the IV room, equipment, and hood.
  • Services facility-based medication dispensing machines.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a pharmacy setting and with medical terminology.
  • Ability to operate a computer.
  • Pharmacy Technician license.
  • Long-term care pharmacy experience.
