Role Summary

Position Title:
Human Resources Graduate Assistant

Reporting To:
Director of Human Resources

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold the mission statement of the University
  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Assist in the daily operations of the HR department
  • Provide support to Cumberland University staff
  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new hires
  • Perform various administrative tasks such as phone communications, email correspondence, scheduling, and document distribution
  • Help maintain and update the HR database
  • Compile and prepare reports and spreadsheets
  • Organize and manage files
  • Engage in selected projects related to employee relations, training, benefits, and payroll
  • Execute tasks with minimal supervision
  • Support additional projects as assigned by the Office of Human Resources

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in record keeping and reporting
  • Excellent organizational capabilities
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Qualifications

  • Maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
  • Must be enrolled in a graduate program at Cumberland University
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
