The Mortgage Loan Closer is responsible for preparing all closing documentation packages in collaboration with processing, underwriting, and in-house title company personnel for various mortgage loan types including FHA, VA, USDA, DPA, and Conventional loans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilizing a solid understanding of CFPB/TRID ATR/QM, and TILA/RESPA regulations, prepare precise Closing Disclosures and ensure timely delivery to all involved parties to comply with legal standards.
- Request title commitments and any other necessary closing documents.
- Ensure the Closing Disclosure is balanced with all parties.
- Review sales contracts, addenda, homeowner's insurance, final inspections, flood certificates, title commitments, and other relevant documents related to loan closings.
- Maintain precise closing and funding schedules.
- Address and resolve post-closing inquiries and suspense items on closed loans.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Closing Manager.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong customer service orientation with effective verbal and written communication skills for engaging with diverse individuals both within and outside the organization. Ability to gather, interpret, analyze, and assess information in relation to company policies and procedures. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma is required, with some college education preferred, along with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the mortgage industry.
