Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. This position will be located in Roy, Utah, and will support the Sentinel program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug hard real-time embedded software containing logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of embedded systems for safety and mission-critical software.
  • Work and collaborate with a team of software engineers in an Agile environment to meet critical milestones.
  • Ensure program-mandated software standards and compliance criteria are met.
  • Understand and develop in a continuous integration tool chain environment meeting technical and compliance requirements.
Requirements
  • 5 years with a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline; 3 years with a Master's degree; 0 years with a PhD.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with a re-investigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • 2+ years of experience in developing software/writing code in C/C++/C#, Python, Java, or similar programming language.
  • 2+ years of experience in object-oriented programming and design patterns, hardware/software communication interfaces, real-time and post-processing data analytics.
  • 2+ years of full life cycle of software development and Agile software development.
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering using Cameo.
  • Knowledge of developing software for a hard real-time system.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university in software/computer engineering.
  • Experience with Real-Time Component Framework (RTCF).
  • Experience developing missile flight systems software.
  • Experience developing software for a hard real-time system or hardware devices.
  • Experience architecting/designing and/or developing software applications for flight systems.
  • Able to assimilate information from multiple sources, create coherent plans, and then execute those plans.

Work Schedule
