Key Responsibilities:
The Strategic Procurement Manager will play a pivotal role in developing a robust procurement program across category management, sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations, risk management, contingency planning, and supplier performance for the Canadian and US markets, overseeing an annual spend of approximately $75M+.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Manager of Packaging to create a procurement strategy that aligns with Agropur's short-term and long-term objectives.
- Cultivate strong, strategically-focused relationships with business stakeholders, procurement team members, and external partners to ensure seamless delivery of exceptional results.
- Enhance the influence and role of Procurement across various business units, ensuring alignment of priorities and expected outcomes with all stakeholders.
- Achieve cost savings through collaboratively managed sourcing events, negotiations, and innovative approaches, including re-engineering specifications and exploring multi-year deals.
Strategic Leadership:
Work alongside the business to establish long-term procurement strategies tailored to organizational needs:
- Lead and manage tenders, supplier selections, contract negotiations, and procurement strategies while monitoring supplier performance.
- Propose cost-saving initiatives and innovative strategies aimed at value creation.
- Develop risk management strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Manage and activate projects effectively.
- Oversee supplier relationship management (SRM) for key suppliers, driving continuous improvement in high-spend categories.
Innovation and Efficiency:
Propose projects that deliver innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, supported by comprehensive case studies demonstrating potential increases in revenue, EBITDA, and capital expenditures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required.
- Experience in supply chain, operations, finance, or data analytics is preferred.
- Direct procurement experience is advantageous.
