We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist Lead to join our team at Christus Health. As a Surgical Technologist Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our ambulatory surgery center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patient skin for surgery in accordance with hospital standards and protocols.
  • Transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
  • Position patients according to the type of surgery being performed, taking into account their individual needs and requirements.
  • Prepare the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of case, ensuring that all necessary equipment is available and functioning properly.
  • Under the direction of a professional nurse, perform all processes related to the delivery of direct patient care and assistance care in the OR prior to, during, and after any surgical procedure.
  • Assist in the preparation of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, ensuring that they are properly sterilized and ready for use.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure that all necessary steps are taken to ensure a safe and successful surgical procedure.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to surgical technology, ensuring that they are in line with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of the Surgical Technology program required.
  • 3 years of experience as a surgical technologist in a hospital or surgery center setting required.
  • 5 years of experience preferred.
  • Lead Tech experience or proven track record as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
  • BLS required.
  • Certification of Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required.
