What to Expect

As a CFP Associate, you can expect to:

  • Participate in a rotational track that aligns with your interests and skills
  • Work closely with senior leaders, managers, and mentors to develop your skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to the goals and objectives of each department to which you are assigned
  • Assume leadership roles for certain projects and initiatives
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Smithfield Foods' business operations and functional areas
Qualifications

To be eligible for the CFP program, you must:

  • Be a recent college graduate with a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university
  • Be able to relocate one to two times during the rotation
  • Have a high level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to self-manage your time from remote locations
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Be proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Be able to travel up to 15-25% of the time
  • Have a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Be able to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Work Environment and Physical Demands

The work environment and physical demands of this role include:

  • Office, facility, and laboratory environments
  • Lifting, stretching, bending, reaching, walking, climbing, and travel by car and aircraft
  • Wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals
  • Noise levels can be moderate to loud
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision and ability to adjust focus
  • Frequent sitting, using hands to handle or feel, and talking or hearing
