Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Deli/Bakery Team Member to join our team at Quality Food Centers Inc. As a Deli/Bakery Team Member, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and assisting with sales and profit goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for customers, answering questions and making product recommendations.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold in the deli and bakery departments, including ingredients, preparation methods, and nutritional information.
  • Prepare and serve deli and bakery items, including slicing meats and cheeses, and operating bakery equipment.
  • Offer product samples and inform customers of daily specials and promotions.
  • Provide customers with accurate and helpful information about products, including ingredients, nutritional content, and preparation methods.
  • Use equipment and tools safely and efficiently, following company guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to company standards for cleanliness and safety.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve sales and profit goals, and to provide exceptional customer service.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and team members.
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Food safety certification and ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a food service or retail environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages.
