Position Overview

As an Inpatient Pharmacy Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications within the hospital setting. Your expertise will be essential in managing medication orders and providing valuable support to healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and interpret medication orders to identify and resolve potential drug-related issues, suggesting alternative therapies when necessary.
  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Deliver comprehensive drug information and education to both medical personnel and patients.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians in the preparation and distribution of medications, while also mentoring pharmacy students.
  • Provide effective patient counseling as required.
Qualifications

Licensure: Must possess a valid pharmacist license from the appropriate state board prior to employment.

Education: A Bachelor's degree or higher in Pharmacy is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with licensure in Michigan, and those holding certifications such as BLS, ACLS, or PALS. Experience in pediatric, neonatal, adult intensive care, and emergency pharmacy services is advantageous.
