The City of Alexandria is seeking a Recreation Leader II to join our team. As a Recreation Leader II, you will be responsible for leading, instructing, and guiding youth in arts and crafts, sports, games, music, drama, cooking, exercise, and field trips at an Out of School Time Program / Afterschool site. You will work with a team to plan and develop recreational programs, ensure safety precautions are followed, and provide excellent customer service to our community.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and develop recreational programs for youth in arts and crafts, sports, games, music, drama, cooking, exercise, and field trips.
  • Lead, instruct, and guide youth in recreational activities.
  • Ensure safety precautions are followed at all times.
  • Provide excellent customer service to our community.
  • Work with a team to plan and develop recreational programs.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of related experience or equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • First Aid training.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Background working with at-risk youth population.
  • Experience working independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with individual and family services community and street outreach, schools, therapeutic recreation, youth sports programs, and other support services programs.
