About the Role and You:


Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians are responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment in accordance with manufacturer or site specifications, utilizing hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.

Qualifications:

Knowledge:

Minimum of five (5) years of industry experience in instrumentation and electrical, or an associate's degree in Instrumentation or Mechanical Technology.

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Competencies:


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, manufacturer’s literature, diagrams, or schematics.

Strong verbal and written communication skills along with computer proficiency.

Must be capable of wearing all necessary protective equipment to perform tasks safely and efficiently.

Availability for overtime is required if no volunteers are available.

Key Responsibilities:


Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace components such as instruments, valves, disconnects, and starters to ensure personnel safety, equipment integrity, and continuous process operation.


Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble equipment such as automatic valves, motors, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems to restore functionality.

Measure, cut, bend, and install conduit, fittings, and tubing as necessary for equipment installation or repair.

Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber optic, and coaxial cable assemblies, as well as lighting fixtures.

Lock, tag, try, and test energy sources to ensure equipment is inoperable and safe for maintenance work.

Plan and coordinate tasks with other trades while installing new systems or replacing existing components with updated models.


Receive training and be able to access OSHA information such as PSM, MSDS, hazardous material lists, safety protocols, corporate standards, etc.


I&E Technicians will reinforce safety principles within the area and ensure that trainees adhere to standard work practices and procedures.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Distributive Control Systems equipment using testing equipment and techniques to restore operational status.

Work Environment:

Chemical manufacturing facility producing various chemical products.

Physical capability to perform tasks in high-temperature environments while wearing Personal Protective Equipment.

This role requires climbing stairs and ladders and lifting within OSHA guidelines.

Work may involve exposure to outdoor elements with varying temperatures and rotating shifts.

Adhere to all plant safety protocols, including Confined Space, Working at Heights, Management of Change, Hot Work, and Operating Procedures.

Must be able to work scheduled 8-hour shifts with the possibility of extended hours for emergency operations or repairs.
