Position Overview:
EDI Staffing is looking for a highly skilled ETL Developer with a background in the healthcare sector for a hybrid contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is pivotal in the design, development, and execution of ETL processes utilizing Microsoft Business Intelligence tools, particularly MS SQL Server and SSIS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and sustain ETL workflows using MS SQL Server and SSIS to facilitate business operations and support data warehousing and analytics initiatives.
  • Engage with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and convert them into technical specifications for ETL solutions.
  • Execute data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from diverse sources, including databases, flat files, and cloud platforms, into MS SQL Server.
  • Enhance and optimize ETL processes to boost performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain data integration solutions that uphold data quality and integrity.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for existing ETL processes and related workflows.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, including database administrators and data architects, to ensure alignment of data integration processes with business needs.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of data models, including the creation of fact and dimension tables using the Kimball methodology.
  • Document all ETL processes, data flows, and mappings comprehensively.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance policies, security, and privacy regulations in all data integration tasks.
  • Mentor junior developers and team members, providing technical guidance.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in ETL development and Microsoft Business Intelligence tools.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of ETL development standards and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SSIS in a data integration capacity.
  • Experience with healthcare data and familiarity with health plan systems and regulations.
  • Extensive background in data transformation and integration, particularly within the health plan sector.
  • Strong grasp of relational database design, SQL programming, and performance optimization.
  • Proficient in crafting complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including the Kimball methodology for data modeling.
  • Familiarity with other Microsoft Business Intelligence tools, such as SSRS and Power BI, is advantageous.
  • Experience with cloud data integration, especially with Microsoft Azure services, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certifications in SQL Server or related technologies.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and master data management (MDM) tools.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools like Jira.

  • Ability to design and implement efficient ETL processes ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Strong analytical skills with the capability to troubleshoot complex data integration challenges.

  • Proficient in project management principles, capable of leading ETL projects from inception to completion.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest trends in ETL development and data integration.
