Key Responsibilities

  • Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the restaurant's standard drink recipes.

  • Drink Order Recording: Record drink orders accurately and immediately after having received them into the register system.
  • Cash Handling: Balance cash receipts.
  • Guest Recognition: Recognize and learn the names of regular guests.
  • Problem Prevention: Attempt to limit problems and liability related to guests' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading guests to stop drinking or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated guests.
  • Bar Maintenance: Clean and sterilize glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor, and related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins, or straws.
  • Bar Cleaning: Clean and reset bars, work areas, and tables.
  • Garnish Preparation: Slice and pit fruit and prepare other garnishes for drinks.
  • Snack and Appetizer Service: Replenish snacks, appetizers for bar patrons.
  • Display and Presentation: Arrange and maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation, promotion of beverages, and attractive displays.
  • Bevinco Rating Understanding: Understand Bevinco rating and how it relates to restaurant's success.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the restaurant manager.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement. Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
  • Guest Information: Provide guest with information about local areas, including giving directions.
Requirements
  • Language Skills: Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
  • Dining Room and Service Procedures: Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
  • Math Skills: Possess basic math skills and can handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours). Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.
  • Liquor Training: Complete Title IV liquor training to ensure knowledge of responsible serving of alcoholic beverages compliant with AZ state laws.
  • Work Ethic: Develop competent and agreeable work ethic.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Interact with all guests and employees with respect, professional pleasantries, and courtesies.
  • Supervisory Directions: Embrace supervisory directions.
  • Attitude and Commitment: Maintain a positive attitude and a commitment to professional growth and personal development.
