Pulmonary Function Technician/Respiratory Therapist 1st Shift 48 Hours Per Pay Period

We are seeking a skilled Pulmonary Function Technician/Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will work independently to perform diagnostic tests on patients, including spirometry measurements, vital lung capacity, and other pulmonary function testing as needed.
Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic tests on patients, including spirometry measurements, vital lung capacity, and other pulmonary function testing as needed.
Provide patient education on the proper use of inhalers and nebulizers.
Complete all necessary documentation, including billing forms when needed.
Perform quality control procedures on test equipment.
Maintain a safe environment, including sanitizing between patients and wearing proper PPE.
Assist ordering providers in ordering the correct tests for diagnosis.
Communicate with vendors.
Troubleshoot using knowledge of MGC diagnostics BreezeSuite and computer skills, and work with tech support when necessary.
Support, encourage, and educate fellow PFT techs.
Train new hires and work with students.
Requirements:
Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist licensed in the state of Michigan with a minimum of 2 years' experience in Respiratory Care.
Additional three years of related experience, including experience performing diagnostic tests on patients, such as spirometry measurements, vital lung capacity, and other pulmonary function testing.
Ability to instruct and be flexible with instruction to accommodate patients of different understanding levels.
Good understanding of ATS standards and contraindications of Pulmonary Function Testing.
Must have independent judgment and analytical skills.
Must have good understanding of respiratory physiology.
BLS certified.
48 hours per pay period, 1st shift, weekends, and holidays to be scheduled in accordance with the CBA.
