The Production Equipment Operator is tasked with the preparation, setup, initiation, and operation of manufacturing machinery under the supervision of the Production Shift Leader. Responsibilities also encompass ensuring that production meets quality standards, adheres to manufacturing protocols, and complies with safety regulations while striving for continuous enhancement of quality and productivity in manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities


Machine Operation

  1. Setup, operate, and troubleshoot machinery to manufacture thermoformed components according to specifications.
  2. Maximize efficiency during setup, including setup duration, material usage, production rates, and consumption of materials.
  3. Ensure machine readiness by inspecting equipment and tools prior to setup.
  4. Identify and communicate issues that negatively impact product specifications to relevant department personnel for resolution.
  5. Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
  6. Recognize nonconforming materials/products and collaborate with the shift leader for resolution.

Quality Assurance

  1. Ensure that product quality aligns with established standards.
  2. Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean work environment.
  3. Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.

Communication

  1. Complete all necessary shift documentation and paperwork.
  2. Conduct shift hand-off discussions to review job status and updates with the incoming shift.

Safety Compliance

  1. Engage in safety programs and initiatives.
  2. Follow all prescribed safety protocols.
  3. Utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least one (1) year of experience in manufacturing or a related field;
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude;
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to fulfill training, safety, and quality requirements.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in operating manufacturing machinery;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Proficiency in computer and software applications;
  • Familiarity with quality control principles and Statistical Process Control.

Position Requirements

Work Environment: Inside a certified manufacturing environment adhering to Good Manufacturing Procedures.


Equipment/Tools Utilized: Thermoforming machinery, computers, controls, measurement tools, pallet jacks, and hand tools.


Physical Demands: Light work (lifting up to 10 lbs) continuously; Medium work (lifting 11-30 lbs) regularly; Heavy work (lifting 31-50 lbs) occasionally. Other physical activities include bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, twisting, and standing for extended periods.


Mental Requirements: Skills in reading, writing, calculations, interpersonal communication, reasoning/analysis, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
