About the Job

The Quality Intern will support the North America Corporate Quality functional department at Dawn Foods while working in one of the core manufacturing facilities and contributing to the team's goals and objectives. As an intern, you will gain a broad understanding of quality systems within manufacturing processes, including knowledge about specifications, test methodology, and analytical reporting.

Work Eligibility & Travel Requirements

This is a full-time position, working on-site out of our Denver, Colorado Manufacturing Plant. Interns will be required to be onsite at the Corporate Jackson office from May 19 - May 22 for onboarding, and from August 6 - 8 for final presentations.

What Does It Take to Be an Intern at Dawn Foods?
  • Must be a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree, with an interest in working in the consumer product goods or food industry.
  • Strong interest in the industry or field related to the internship.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant concepts, principles, and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency with MS Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform tests, including pH, aw, viscosity, Brix, texture, particle size, etc.

  • Conduct research on assigned topics and present findings to the team.
  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm ideas and contribute to problem-solving efforts.

  • Take initiative to suggest process improvements and contribute innovative ideas.

  • Identified projects that you will be responsible for:
    • Validation, data trending, and data analysis.
    • Continued specification conversion with different lab equipment.
    • Create, update, and write procedures for in-process testing.
    • Analytical reports.

  • Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
  • Required to exert physical effort in handling objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Normal setting for this job will be a combination of manufacturing laboratory and production floor environment.
  • Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: Wheat/Gluten, Soy, Milk, and Egg.
  • All PPE requirements are to be worn while inside the Plant (hairnets/safety boots/smock must be worn).
