Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner Pediatric II to join our team at Methodist Children's Hospital. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program, or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or State Registered Respiratory Therapist, or State Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician, or Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree, or Certificate, or Master's Degree, or Vocational School Graduate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
