Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced School Age Child Care Program Site Supervisor to join our team at the Greater Somerset County YMCA. As a key member of our before and after school program team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations at one of our designated School Age Child Care (SACC) sites, ensuring the successful delivery of our program, and providing a safe and engaging environment for children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise groups of children and lead staff in a fun and safe environment.
  • Plan and implement a varied and challenging program of activities for children, including homework time, enrichment activities, organized physical activities, free play, and snack time.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with children and families, greeting them in a positive manner every day.
  • Communicate issues related to the program to the SACC Director and facilitate planning and participation in service meetings.
  • Supervise and manage daily snack, maintain and track supplies for programs and activities, and ensure the site/room, equipment, and materials are in an orderly and safe manner.
  • Manage rosters and attendance records, implement safety measures and regulations, and ensure the implementation of health and safety policies.
  • Support efforts of promotion and publicity of all YMCA programs and demonstrate leadership and be a positive influence and role model to colleagues and staff.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • At least two years of experience working with children in a school, after school, or camp setting.
  • Sound judgment, ability to prioritize and be self-directed, and work independently.
  • Ability to work flexibly with a collaborative team of staff members and volunteers.
  • Ability to maintain systems for accurate record keeping.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Must be willing to work with all persons without regard to race, religion, ethnic origin, socioeconomic status or disability.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and commitment to the goals and objectives of the Princeton YMCA programs.
