Job Title: Coordinator, Construction Safety

At DC Water, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Coordinator, Construction Safety to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of employees and contractors within our campuses and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular safety inspections to identify hazards and potential risks.
  • Implement safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Provide safety training to employees on topics such as proper equipment usage, emergency procedures, and hazard recognition.
  • Develop and maintain safety manuals, guidelines, and instructional materials to support training initiatives.
  • Assist with investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement safety improvement initiatives and programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety measures and adjust policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Maintain records and documentation related to safety inspections, training sessions, and incident investigations.
  • Participate in safety committees and meetings to discuss concerns, share best practices, and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Five (5) years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and engage operational employees.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ANSI).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Data analysis and report generation from safety risk systems.
  • Experience in conducting safety inspections and hazard risk reduction mitigation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
