Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in our Geropsychiatric unit. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing safe and reliable patient care, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Responsibilities
  • Assess the needs of patients and families, providing appropriate teaching and making necessary referrals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Develop individual plans of care using a collaborative approach with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Promptly complete documentation to ensure accurate and legal records of patient care.
  • Deliver high-quality care utilizing the nursing process, demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills of the specialty required on assigned units.
  • Utilize a holistic approach, considering biopsychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of patients and families served.
  • Delegate and provide direction for other healthcare providers, holding them accountable for their involvement in the plan of care.
  • Utilize critical thinking in making independent judgments and maintain responsibility and accountability for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited licensed practical nursing program.
  • One (1) year of hospital clinical experience or demonstrated clinical efficiency.
  • Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Iowa.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.
