Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mobile Equipment Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Stella-Jones in Tacoma. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of team members and outside vendors responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on various types of Powered Industrial Equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Maintenance Work Requests: Prioritize and assign maintenance work requests to team members and outside vendors, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Ensure Safety and Efficiency: Ensure team members comply with all safety, environmental, and manufacturing practices, minimizing downtime and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Communicate with Production and Quality Assurance: Communicate equipment breakdowns and estimated repair times to production and quality assurance teams, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collaborate with Vendors and Management: Collaborate with vendors, management, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve equipment operation and conditions.
  • Document and Report Maintenance Work: Document and report maintenance work performed, advising on future requirements and recommending improvements to maintenance processes.
Requirements
  • Experience and Qualifications: Significant experience (typically 5 or more years) as a mechanic, including experience working on mobile equipment (such as forklifts, loaders, trucks, etc.). Experience with Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) systems highly preferred.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Mechanic team management/leadership, training, and/or mentoring experience a plus.
  • Availability and Flexibility: Able to work overtime as needed and pass a background check and drug test.
