Mortgage Servicing Specialist Job Description

Xplore Federal Credit Union is seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Servicing Specialist to join our team. As a Mortgage Servicing Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of mortgage servicing, including processing loan payments, managing escrow accounts for taxes and insurance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Loan Processing: Input internet applications, gather necessary documents for processing and underwriting, and address process inquiries. Analyze financial status, recommend loan approvals within limits, and refer others to management.
  • Escrow Administration: Oversee escrow administration for real estate loans, including managing escrow analysis, verifying insurance coverage, and resolving complex issues. Maintain insurance verification lists, force-placed lender insurance, process escrow disbursements, and report problematic policies to management.
  • Member Service: Respond to member inquiries across various channels professionally.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Assist in Quality Control Audits, process mortgage releases for paid-off loans, and report status of all title work to department managers.
  • Additional Duties: Assist Commercial Lending with administrative tasks as requested, conduct light collections, and maintain knowledge of lending programs, policies, and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Experience: One to two years of similar or related experience.
  • Education: A high school education or GED.
  • Licensing: This position is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements.

  • Attention to Detail: Precision in reviewing documents, verifying information, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to assess financial information, analyze risk, and make sound decisions.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of lending regulations and ability to maintain compliance.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication for interacting with applicants, insurance agents, and team members.
  • Problem-Solving: Skilled in independently researching and resolving complex issues.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate with various parties in the loan lifecycle.
