We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will have a strong background in synthetic biology, metabolic engineering, and cyanobacteria research.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement novel synthetic biology and metabolic engineering strategies to enhance cyanobacteria production of biomass and chemicals.
- Collaborate with industry leaders and academic groups to develop sustainable, recyclable, and biodegradable polyester polyurethane materials.
- Evaluate and optimize cyanobacteria strains for increased production of biomass and chemicals in alkaline salt media.
- Develop biochemical and analytical chemistry methods to analyze and characterize cyanobacteria products.
- Work closely with collaborating groups in Chemistry and corporate partners to purify and develop polyurethane materials.
- PhD in Biology or related field with experience in synthetic biology, metabolic engineering, and cyanobacteria research.
- Strong background in molecular biology, microbiology, and biochemistry.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with cyanobacteria and polyurethane materials.
- Postdoctoral or equivalent experience in a related field.
