Collections Specialist

The Collections Specialist plays a crucial role in our company's success by collaborating with customers to address payment concerns and negotiate repayment arrangements. This position requires a unique blend of empathy and solution-oriented approaches to ensure positive outcomes for all parties involved.
Key Responsibilities:- Customer Communication: Contacts customers with overdue accounts to discuss payment options and establish repayment plans.
- Record Keeping: Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities, communications, and payment agreements.
- Communication Methods: Utilizes phone calls, emails, and written correspondence to communicate with customers regarding their outstanding balances.
- Relationship Building: Builds and maintains positive relationships with customers while resolving payment discrepancies.
- Account Monitoring: Monitors the progress of overdue accounts, ensuring timely follow-up and escalations as needed.
- Education: High School diploma or GED.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Good problem-solving skills to handle difficult or sensitive situations professionally.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to empathize and negotiate effectively.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-year collections or a related role is preferred.
- Call Center Experience: Previous experience in a call center environment.
Our office is located at 628 Roosevelt Road, St. Cloud, MN. We offer a full-time schedule with 40 hours per week, including in-office hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm CST, and every other Saturday, 8:00am-5:00pm CST.
Compensation:We offer a competitive compensation package, including a pay grade of H3, with a minimum of $22.00 and a midpoint of $25.50 per hour. Starting pay is based on experience.
