Your Role
As the Maintenance Operations Manager, you will oversee all aspects of maintenance activities, ensuring equipment safety, optimizing machine efficiency, and maintaining the overall condition of the facility.

The Maintenance Operations Manager will enhance the performance of the organization's physical assets while managing labor and material costs to meet operational objectives. This role necessitates significant collaboration with plant personnel, leadership teams, engineering departments, external partners, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive maintenance strategies, prioritizing safety above all.
  • Lead initiatives in preventive and predictive maintenance, managing the enhancement of key performance indicators and the continuous improvement of maintenance operations.
  • Responsible for the training and development of maintenance staff, including coaching and mentoring.
  • Engage in or lead projects related to capital improvements and problem-solving efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures in purchasing and inventory management.
  • Play a pivotal role in supporting and enhancing processes linked to the computerized maintenance management system for operational reliability.
  • Facilitate team meetings and training sessions, identifying safety, environmental, quality, and production challenges, while coordinating with production teams to optimize productivity and minimize waste.
  • Oversee the integrity and upkeep of all plant assets, including production machinery, facilities, utility systems, and grounds.
  • Set departmental objectives focused on enhancing line efficiencies, product quality, and equipment reliability.
  • Maintain a strong emphasis on ergonomics and employee safety throughout all project phases.
  • Promote and enforce plant safety protocols related to lockout/tagout, confined spaces, electrical safety, and other industrial hazards.
  • Implement predictive maintenance methodologies to bolster reliability and increase scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Support the effective operation of the facility through optimal use of engineering and maintenance resources.
  • Generate initiatives aimed at reducing utility and energy expenditures.
  • Assess equipment capabilities for new or modified production layouts.
  • Contribute to the Food Safety and HACCP Team.
  • Foster a communication network that encourages collaboration between maintenance, operations, sanitation, team leaders, and management.
  • Create a proactive work culture that involves technicians in the planning and execution of maintenance tasks.
  • Develop expertise within the maintenance team across all mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Utilize the company's Enterprise Asset Management system to maximize maintenance efficiency and enhance equipment reliability.
  • Identify skill gaps within the maintenance team and create training plans to address these needs.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing as a Maintenance Manager, Reliability Engineer, Plant Engineer, or Maintenance Engineer.
  • Strong knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and PLC programming.
  • Proven expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance practices, with a solid understanding of equipment reliability, lubrication best practices, and precision maintenance techniques.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving and maintaining business and financial objectives.
  • Ability to diagnose root causes of issues and effectively implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  • Proven ability to enhance performance by building and sustaining positive relationships through coaching and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Strong leadership skills with a history of positively influencing safety, environmental, quality, productivity, and personnel development.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational capabilities.
  • Strong work ethic, sound judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, including MS Office and other Windows-based applications.
  • Familiarity with food industry standards such as HACCP, GMP, SQF, and BRC.
  • Knowledge of GMP, OSHA, EPA, and other relevant local regulations.
  • Working knowledge of industrial refrigeration, HVAC, boiler systems, compressed air, and electrical distribution.
  • Experience with Infor EAM or similar computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Certifications such as CMRP, CMRT, CMM, or equivalent.
  • CIRO or CARO Certification.
  • Certification under ICML.
  • Experience with SMRP, ISO 55000, TPM, or similar standards.
