Job Overview

University Physicians' Association is seeking a dedicated Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payment for our patients' medical services.

Remote work options are available for this position, with a required on-site training period in Knoxville, TN for a minimum of 90 days. Some positions may also require intermittent time in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply knowledge of insurance guidelines and requirements to resolve denials or partially paid claims.
  • Correspond with clients to resolve inquiries or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identify payer trends and notify manager of negative trends.
  • Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports.

Requirements:

  • High School education or equivalency, medical billing courses and/or higher education a plus.
  • Good computer, written, & verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes is not required but preferred.
