Job Title: Operations Manager

Mark Thomas & Co Inc is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for providing overall project management support for a broad, complex portfolio of projects that require high levels of functional integration and change management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize workload for the operations team and aid in resolving escalated project support issues.
  • Coordinate with internal team members to delegate tasks, give or receive project updates, and move projects toward completion.
  • Prepare and present project status reports as needed to senior leaders.
  • Participate in project reviews, risk reviews, and project debriefs with project coordinators and managers.
  • Communicate effectively within the organization and act as a positive, cooperative change manager.
  • Perform regular audits on projects and platforms to ensure deliverables are progressing, blockers are being routinely removed, procedures are being followed, and platforms are maintained.
  • Manage day-to-day operations activities, overall project resourcing, and project budget spending.
  • In collaboration with senior leaders, design, implement, and analyze project delivery initiatives aimed at efficiency, quality, and capability enhancements in delivery operations.
  • Support the development and implementation of reporting templates, dashboards, and metrics to drive and facilitate the successful delivery of projects.
  • Understand and actively work with/within delivery operations processes, cost flows, and financial tracking systems.
  • Work with senior leaders to analyze data and draw/extract insights that will guide the business forward.
  • Ensure the operations team supports project managers and project teams as needed in monitoring and interpreting KPIs and related actions for effective management of scope of work, budget, timeline, change orders, and risk.
  • Lead and manage operations team members in safe, professional execution of all assigned projects; provide coaching and training for continuous learning.
  • Maintain performance against agreed metrics of assigned projects; escalate at-risk project issues to senior leaders as appropriate.
  • Participate in project risk reviews; ensure all contracts are reviewed and flagged to company standard and ensure timely communication with all company stakeholders regarding contract changes.
  • Understand contract requirements and ensure project delivery in accordance with agreed systems and processes.
  • Provide contract risk review analysis for high-profile projects or as escalated by the Contract Compliance administrator (in conjunction with the Company Risk Manager).
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, civil engineering, or related field required.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in operations or project management and project delivery.
  • Skilled in personnel management, resource management, and change management.
  • Strong understanding of business operations and finances in a professional service setting.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex contracts, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a variety of unique and diverse people and personalities.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to meet, maintain driver eligibility.

The offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. The base compensation range for this position is $98, $175,400.00 annually.
