Critical Care Nurse

Huntington Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care Unit team. As a critical care nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients and their families.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse Critical Care will be responsible for coordinating patient care, assessing patient needs, and developing individualized care plans. You will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and provide education to patients and families. This is a full-time position working nights, with a competitive compensation package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
Responsibilities:- Coordinate patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient needs, preferences, and goals.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and provide education to patients and families.
- Monitor and manage patient care, including vital signs, lab results, and medication administration.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)
- Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Provider (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association
- Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) within 30 days of hire/transfer
- Minimum 2 years of current experience in a critical care unit, in an acute mixed unit preferred and 3 years' experience preferred
- Surgical, Neuro, Cardiac and Trauma nursing experience also strong preferred
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) will be considered if enrolled in a BSN program with degree completion within 2 years of date of hire or date of transfer to an RN position
- Basic computer skills/experience with computerized documentation systems required, EPIC experience preferred
