Critical Care Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Critical Care Nurse to join our team at Huntington Hospital. As a Critical Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients in our Critical Care Unit.
Job Summary:The Critical Care Nurse will be responsible for coordinating care to meet the identified needs of patients and families. This includes supervising the management of patient care, discharge planning, resource identification, and linking patients with required services. The Critical Care Nurse will also be responsible for monitoring care delivery, advocating for patients, and evaluating outcomes.
Responsibilities:- Coordinate patient care across the healthcare continuum
- Assist other team members with meeting individual patient needs
- Responsible for coordination of care to meet identified needs of patients and families
- Supervise the management of patient care
- Discharge planning
- Resource identification
- Linking patients with required services
- Monitoring care delivery
- Advocating for patients
- Evaluating outcomes
- Bachelor's degree (BSN) required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) will be considered if enrolled in a BSN program with degree completion within 2 years of date of hire or date of transfer to an RN position
- Diploma or transcripts on highest degree earned required
- Minimum 1 year of current experience in acute care area of expertise/equivalent service area, 2 years preferred
- Critical Care unit and Trauma nursing experience preferred
- Must challenge and successfully pass the Basic Dysrhythmia course curriculum within 21 days of hire
- Basic computer skills/experience with computerized documentation systems required
- Critical Care Core Curriculum and completion of required on-unit preceptorship
- Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Provider (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association
- Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) within 30 days of hire/transfer
