Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician II to support our NATSC contract in Newport, Rhode Island. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating the Heading Coil Facilities at the Navy Array Technical Support Center (NATSC) and Naval Station Newport (NAVSTA).

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks, including:

  • Operating the Heading Coil Facilities to perform heading sensor and module-level calibrations
  • Operating the Towed Array Test Set (TATS)
  • Building up heading sensor assemblies following detailed procedures
  • Conducting tests using established methods and recording test data
  • Extracting engineering data from various sources and processing it using well-defined methods
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A high school/vocational school diploma or GED certificate, or technical school diploma and 1-2 years of work experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret level clearance
  • Familiarity with standard computer operation and Microsoft Office products
Preferred Qualifications

Documented completion of soldering and/or fiber-optic certification/training, operational knowledge and experience with industrial equipment, and active DOD secret clearance or Interim Secret clearance are preferred.

Compensation

This role is covered by the Service Contract Act and will pay $21.15 per hour.
