The Senior Private Label Procurement Manager will spearhead vendor sourcing efforts to guarantee that BJ's provides premium private label products that align with our member-focused objectives, profitability, and operational goals. This position necessitates a deep comprehension of vendor operations, cost factors, production capabilities, and commercialization for perishable product categories. Collaborative engagement with various BJ's teams will be crucial to implement a project roadmap that fosters both revenue and profit growth for BJ's private label offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Procurement: Identify, engage, and formulate sourcing strategies with vendors to ensure compliance with our stringent quality, profitability standards, and ethical practices.
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Work alongside the Private Label Manager, Quality Assurance Team, and Merchant teams to grasp the strategic objectives of the business and establish a sourcing strategy that fulfills the needs of our members and our organization.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, enduring relationships with suppliers to advance shared financial and partnership goals. Systematically oversee the vendor matrix to support current and future product requirements, risk management, and operational necessities.
  • Cost Control: Collect bid data, evaluate submissions, and formulate award recommendations in collaboration with stakeholders to Private Label and Merchandising leadership. Lead initiatives to achieve cost reductions while ensuring product quality remains uncompromised.
  • Project Management: Oversee and monitor project milestones and deliverables. Proactively identify potential delays or challenges, and collaborate with the cross-functional team to devise contingency plans, ensuring projects stay on track and within established scope and financial parameters. Provide timely updates to stakeholders and realign resources as needed to meet project goals.
  • Market Research: Continuously track and report on industry trends, competitor offerings, and potential new sourcing avenues.
  • Contract Negotiation: Direct contract negotiations by identifying and negotiating vendor terms that reflect business priorities. Recognize areas for enhancement, develop action plans, and negotiate outcomes that positively influence the organization.
  • Operational Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the planning and allocation team to understand their objectives and identify solutions for any emerging operational challenges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 7+ years of international or domestic sourcing or merchandising experience
  • Extensive negotiation experience
  • Proven track record of achieving outstanding results in a cross-functional setting
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen
  • Familiarity with product manufacturing processes
  • Curiosity, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills – thrives in a team-oriented environment

In accordance with Pay Transparency regulations, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this role. At BJ's Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide array of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position starts at $122,500.00.
