We are currently seeking a Materials Management Specialist to enhance our operational efficiency at our headquarters. This role is pivotal in overseeing material flow and throughput, ensuring that manufacturing has the necessary resources for success. Responsibilities may include inventory oversight, production utilization, materials forecasting, and preemptively identifying potential bottlenecks and issues.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and manage material demand and supply to guarantee that the correct materials are stocked and accessible for manufacturing as required.
- Work closely with Production Leads and the Procurement team to ensure appropriate staging, scheduling, and availability of materials.
- Analyze data related to manufacturing materials usage to identify trends and recommend necessary actions.
- Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accuracy in the ERP system.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Procurement to communicate potential stock shortages, identify remedial actions, expedite shortages, and relay replenishment timelines.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and assessment of team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Drive master scheduling activities to analyze production requirements utilizing MRP/ERP systems.
- Generate manufacturing orders (MOs) to optimize production and material demand.
- Actively engage in lean initiatives and contribute to MRB and ECO teams.
- Perform additional duties as required based on business needs.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, managing the processes involved in product creation.
- Strong data collection and management skills; the ideal candidate can analyze data and recommend improvements based on findings.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities, capable of collaborating across functions and building robust relationships with stakeholders.
- Results-driven with a keen attention to detail; adept at enhancing manufacturing processes through effective record-keeping.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Familiarity with job-shop manufacturing processes and cost structures is advantageous.
- Experience with Infor LN ERP systems is preferred.
- Proven track record in effectively managing master scheduling activities using MRP/ERP systems.
- Solid experience on the shop floor.
- Proficient in MS Office, with advanced skills in MS Excel being a plus.
